“The truth is learned, never told.”

The financial industry is complicated, but it’s not rocket science. Some financial advisors take advantage of the buzzwords and terms to make it feel like you could never understand it on your own.

We believe knowledge is power. We want to help you learn about the best ways to manage your money. We’ve created this list of resources to help you educate yourself not only about APS Ventures, but the industry in general. Check back often for updated content.

Do some research, ask lots of questions. You owe it to yourself and your financial future.

Composite Data

The heart and soul of our firm is in the data we provide to our clients and prospects: performance data. We utilize the Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS) for collecting and reporting our performance data via composites.

We have a composite report for each of our Stock and Bond strategies that details not only performance, but many other financial metrics. To see the details, check out our Strategies Page.

Every client who invests in the strategy gets included in the report, regardless of timing, account value, or account type. This ensures that the performance you see is not “cherry-picked” or incomplete. The data is collected monthly and reported on our website. The information we report has been calculated by an independent third party that specializes in performance calculations and GIPS compliance.

GIPS

“The CFA Institute Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS®) are globally accepted standards considered industry best practice for investment performance reporting and presentation. Adopted by hundreds of organizations around the world, the GIPS standards have been implemented by most of the top asset management firms. By establishing requirements for consistent and transparent reporting, the GIPS standards empower investors to compare the past performance of asset managers.” – CFA Institute

APS Ventures is laser focused on performing for our clients. When considering the time and cost to our firm to become GIPS compliant, it was a no-brainer for us.

Surprisingly, most financial advisory firms are not compliant. Therefore, they cannot show you historical returns that their firm achieved for their clients. If you question an advisor’s return, ask for it in writing. Their response will tell you everything you need to know.

Our composite data is directly used to maintain our GIPS compliance and is third-party verified annually. Only the best of the best for our clients.

In the future, we hope to see more firms voluntarily comply.
